How to lay out your files Here is a breif overview on how to lay out your files.
Please supply a single A5 PDF with each page in the PDF as a single page, i.e not in 2 page spreads.
We print all of our books digitally; this means that our A5 sized books are often a couple of millimetres smaller than A4. Our A5 black and white books measure 202mm x 143mm, colour books remain full size at 2mm x 148mm. This makes the process more cost effective and we pass the saving on to you.
To prepare an A5 word document for print:
With hardback books, we will usually trim an additional 4mm from the top and bottom of the internal pages. This is to ensure that the internal pages sit within the hardback casing.
To prepare an A4 word document for print:
We provide a cover design service where one of our experienced designers will design the front cover, back cover, and spine, to your design brief.
When you are designing your own cover, or outsource your cover design elsewhere please send us your files either as one image that includes your front cover, back cover and spine, or as three separate images. Please remember to add 3mm bleed to the edges.
Please supply a single page set up for your book as PDF i.e not in 2 page spreads. This should be set up in 1 file.
We print all of our books digitally and all books come off the press and book blocks and not spreads.
We can accept files in most formats but ask for PDF files as what you see on screen is 99.9% what you will get on paper. Other file formats can cause issues due to fonts and programe templates.see our templates
Whether you want to take advantage of our book design service or not, it's really easy to find out how much it is going to cost to print your book.
